1. Overview & Core Philosophy

Auddio (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is built with a simple privacy principle: your media library and listening habits belong entirely to you. We do not sell your personal data, track you across third-party apps or websites, or monetize your activity.

2. Information Stored Locally On Your Device

The vast majority of data created while using Auddio is saved strictly on your local device (in on-device SQLite databases and local preferences):

• Playback Progress & History: Current listening positions, book completion status, bookmarks, and sleep timer settings.
• Local Audio Files: Audio files imported from your device or downloaded for offline listening remain in your device's sandbox.
• App Settings: Playback speed preferences, UI theme accents, and custom player options.

3. Third-Party Integrations & Cloud Services (Optional)

Auddio allows you to connect optional third-party services. When you enable these features, data is exchanged strictly to fulfill your request:

• Google Drive Cloud Backup: If you choose to enable cloud backups, Auddio requests restricted access solely to its own hidden application data folder (drive.appdata scope). Auddio only uploads encrypted/compressed database backups and reading bookmarks so you can restore your library across devices. Auddio cannot access, view, or modify any other files in your Google Drive. Your Google credentials and tokens are stored securely in your device's keychain.
• Hardcover Sync: If you connect your Hardcover account, Auddio connects directly to Hardcover's API to synchronize your reading shelves and progress. Your login tokens remain secure on your device.
• Debrid & Cloud Resolvers: If you configure a supported cloud provider or debrid API key, requests are routed directly between your device and the configured provider.
• Crash Reporting & Diagnostics: Auddio uses Firebase Crashlytics to catch bugs and unhandled exceptions. Crash logs are anonymized and contain technical details (such as OS version and stack traces) without personal identification.

Third-Party Data Protection: We confirm that any third-party service provider integrated with Auddio provides the same or equal protection of user data as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

4. On-Device Speech Recognition & Microphone

Auddio offers sentence-synchronized read-along transcripts for audiobooks and podcasts. When generating transcripts:

• Auddio uses on-device speech recognition via Apple's Speech framework and on-device whisper models.
• Microphone access is requested solely to interface with system speech recognition services. Auddio does not record, collect, transmit, or store personal microphone audio.
• Audio analysis is performed locally on your device and is never sent to external servers or used for marketing or tracking.

5. Advertising & Tracking

Auddio does not include any third-party advertising SDKs and does not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA or Google Advertising ID). We do not perform cross-site tracking or data brokering.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Because your library data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it at all times:

• Local Data: Uninstalling the app removes all locally cached databases, downloaded audio, and saved preferences.
• Cloud Backups: If you use Google Drive backups, you can delete your remote backup data directly within the app at any time via Settings > Cloud Backup > Delete Backup, or by removing Auddio from your Google Account's connected apps management page.

7. Children’s Privacy

Auddio does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. The application is a general-purpose audio player.
